I’m 36+3 and had my midwife appointment this morning. I’ve been measured at 39. What does this mean?

Normally if you are 36 they say to measure 36
I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago (was 28 weeks and measured 32cm). Now I’m exactly measuring the „right“ distance. I wouldn’t worry too much, maybe your baby was in a weird position in that exact moment!
I feel like these measurements are so dumb. How can they measure from the same place near your pubic bone every time? 🤔
