Maternity Grant

I’m not sure but just commenting to follow! I haven’t applied for it yet as I’ve only just made a claim for UC to top up my SMP

@Erica Really?! 🫢well it’s a grant of £500 to help out with buying baby stuff etc. in terms of applying the form is on the government we sit, you have to print and fill it out then send it off Here’s the link lovely ☺️ https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/sure-start-maternity-grant-claim-form

I received the same message, and after two weeks, I received a letter confirming the payments and dates.

Usually you’ll get a message saying you been rewarded it most of the time this message means you wont get it but it depends I think

@Olivia it’s one of payment for the first baby and you must be claiming some sort of benefit to get it x

@Rose that’s the thing I signed up for UC last month even had my first appointment with my work coach and everything. So hopefully it’s a yes I’ve still got a few bits and bobs to buy 😭

@Olivia will you be on maternity leave getting SMP? You may qualify for a something if so and be able to apply for it then! I’m going down to SMP so I’m able to claim a small amount of UC, so if I get that I will apply for the grant- I think you can do it up until baby is 6 months old!
