IVF meds

Hi ladies, any IVF mamas on here? I’m due to stop my meds (a whole suite of them, including progesterone) on the weekend (at 10wks) and am a little apprehensive as I know some patients are told to continue them til 12 or 14 weeks. Has anyone else done this? Any knowledge about what effect a drop in progesterone would have at this stage of the pregnancy, or is the idea it’s kind of self-sufficient in that sense by now?!

I am 10+2 and Will will be stopping clexane and aspirin on Thursday. The Lubion and progesterone pesseries I’m taking I will start to wean off from week 11-12 by alternating the dose and stopping at 12 weeks. Are you with a clinic or the NHS?

NHS - I’m also on lubion + pessaries (plus aspirin, clexane and prednisolone!) but they told me to stop them all at 10 weeks apart from the prednisolone which you have to wean off.

I think the NHS tend to have their own policies for meds. Have you raised your concerns with your doctor?

I raised them with the midwife who predictably said they don’t like to interfere and I should speak to my clinic. Then I emailed my clinic and they said if I feel uncomfortable with it I should speak to my local maternity service 🙄

hi, ICSI mama here. i’m going to be 9 weeks tomorrow and my private care advised me to stop taking my lubion injections by the 10th week of pregnancy. and then by the 12th week of pregnancy to then stop my cyclogest pessaries and oestradiol tablets. (i take the pessaries and tablets 3x a day, so i am also anxious if i stop taking them will it affect my pregnancy in any way) i say that because i had a previous miscarriage in november hence why they upped my dosage from 2x to 3x. so i understand where you are coming from

Thanks @Rukshana, nice to know others are in the same boat…I guess it’s natural to feel anxious! Hope all goes ok for you x
