I have the skyla and love it. Never failed me and I don't have to think about it.
I loved mine! Had it removed when we were ready to start trying for #2, but now that he's born I'll be getting it put in as soon as I can.
@Umara that's cool but the other reasons for you like it doesn't make you difficult to do the routine I hope , or it hurts or is it something that you don't like can you please share if you wish ?
I’ve liked it. I’ve had it twice and both times have been great. Especially for a long term thing
I had a paragard iud for 8 years. No issues. No babies until I had it removed. Of course everything works different for everyone! Yk
Cut those tubes Lol! I’m doing that when I have my second next month!!
I first got a Mirena when I was in my late 20’s. I got it both for contraception and to help manage my gnarly period. I had it for 6 years (I think? I forget now) before I had it removed so that my husband and I could start trying for a baby. I loved it! It took a few months but eventually I stopped having a period. We had lots of sex without additional protection and were fine all those years. No condom, no pulling out. I had tried multiple birth control pill options and the depo shot previous to getting Mirena but never really liked any of them. They did their job, but my doctor recommended Mirena for its potential to stop my period. Mirena is my favorite now. I had my obgyn insert another at my 8 week follow up appointment after having my baby. My body is still adjusting and I’ve been spotting for about two weeks now since it was inserted but I remember that from last time too. As annoying as it is, I feel it’s worth it for the relief and peace of mind that I know is coming my way.
I loved my iud had it for almost 4 years no problems
I loved my IUD, no period and successfully prevented pregnancy for 5 years until I got it out. Was pregnant a few months after getting it removed. FYI it’s not comfortable to have inserted but then totally painless.
Vasectomy? That seems easiest
I’m not the person you replied to but since you asked if it hurts I wanted to answer from my experience. Getting it inserted the first time was painful for me but the second time was not as bad. For comparison, it’s worse than a pap but not as bad as inserting the balloon they used to induce. That said it was totally worth it for me and I did it a second time.
@Jade i spoke to my doctor she recommended me for mirena iud
If your having period or hormonal problems, it's better to fight ur Dr to find the root cause instead of a bandaid. If u plan to have more children in the future Iud is great option just seevif they'll numb you. I hear it hurts
It works well for birth control. I had the Mirena. I didn’t like mine for other reasons but preventing pregnancies it did not fail.
