Thanks, Alana! That helps a lot. All the guidance online is so varied so it’s good to hear from someone first hand. It feels like such a shame to miss a full cycle ttc (I’m 39 next week) but I guess it’s necessary. I’ll be under general anaesthesia too, which makes me a bit nervous! Thanks for the reassurance xx
I would obviously ask just to make sure. I’m no doctor, haha. Just based off of my experience. As it was a chunk they cut out, the cervix needed to heal. They said if it healed too tightly there would be a chance I couldn’t dilate to give birth vaginally. They also said if it healed too loosely, then I could lose a pregnancy/need a stitch called a cerclage to keep baby up in there and safe. So by the sounds of that, I feel like it would need time to heal before getting pregnant. Just to make sure everything is okay. But definitely Double check as it sounds like they may be taking less of yours than mine. 🤞🏼 for you! I had my procedure in 2018 and gave birth to a beautiful baby August of 2024. After a loss and 2 years of trying and fertility treatments. I understand what it’s like to feel like you’re running out of time. But 39 is the new 29! Many women are having children later in life. No doubt you’ll be blessed with one soon. ❤️
Thank you 😊 Your experience sounds a bit scary - I’m glad it healed okay for you! I think I only have minor scarring from previous operations after missed miscarriages, but who knows what they will find. I’m torn between hoping they find a reason for my miscarriages and secondary infertility and hoping they find nothing at all 😬 I think I’ll be moving on to fertility treatment after this unless I magically get pregnant in the next cycle 😂 So glad to hear it worked out for you and you got that precious baby!
They fully cut a portion of mine out so I guess my experience was a bit different? But I would think you’d need time to heal regardless. I was completely out under general anaesthesia. I wouldn’t try TTC immediately after. But next cycle should be fine. I bled for a few days. Nothing wild. And just took Advil/tylenol as needed. But it was quite painless to be honest. I had my procedure done on a Wednesday and I went back to work on the Monday. Probably could’ve been fine the Friday but it was a PD day (I’m a teacher) so I took it off haha. Good luck my dear! It’s not as bad as it seems. You got this.
