Non hormonal coil (what’s it like?)

I’ve booked to have it fitted and curious on people’s experiences. I’ve chosen not to have anything hormonal due to issues I’ve had

I had the copper coil and it was great for me! Not sure if you’ve had a coil before but you may get some cramping for a little bit after but will be gone the next day. My periods etc were regular too x

My fitting was fine, no pain. Cramping for about 10 days. They said I wouldn't have a period after a few months but I definitely had a regular period the entire time I had it (removed to get pregnant)

Had a good experience. Had it in a few months now.

I’ll be honest I had it for a few years - no issues getting it in/out etc. I had it removed though as the cramps I got with my period were agony to the point I couldn’t handle it any longer. That being said I’m now considering getting it again as I don’t want anything hormonal either (including another baba!!)

I like it - had it pre-pregnancy and my periods were very regular - slightly heavier and very mild cramps on day 1. Have had it fitted again since having baby and my periods are now really heavy 😭😭 hoping it's because I'm still only 5 months postpartum and they start to settle!! Other than that I think it's great and like that it's non hormonal x

I’ve had it for a week. All I can say is I got mild cramping after. And I was told to take 800mg of ibuprofen about 30 minutes before

I had it for 5yrs pre baby! It definitely did the job but I suffered with painful cramps every month and was loads heavier than I've ever bled before.

It made my previously light, 3 day period into a very heavy 5 day period. Other than that no issues.
