It’s definitely different for everyone I felt effects even after I got mine taken out.

I thought mine failed when I stop having periods around year 2 but it didn't 🤷‍♀️ then this last year I had my son due to a plan b failing

I had 2 so covered for 6 years, and then when I got mine taken out the effects took time to wear off and I didn’t fall pregnant for 2 years, took about 18 months before my ovulation returned to normal

Actually it starts to wear off after 3 years. It is still effective after those 3 years. Just less effective the longer you have it in.

I’m currently on my 4th implant done 12 years on it. My currently implant expired 2 months ago. It is still working for me.

As far as I understand it, it only starts wearing off at the earliest around 3 years, never before, unless you are very overweight.

@Lisa my bmi is 42 and I am still going strong 💪🏼 😂

@Hayley I remember the doctor saying about the weight thing but in my head I don’t see how that makes sense? 😂

@Lisa I think it’s because they probably don’t know much about overweight bodies and it they need a higher dose. I haven’t always been overweight and I’ve pretty much had the same experience with each one I’ve had. I have noticed my heavy periods have returned since the implant had “ran out”. I have PCOS, with causes my periods to be very heavy and the implant helps reduce my heavy periods. So I am noticing its effects wearing off quicker than my previous ones.
