Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Life is full. Between work, kids, church, responsibilities, and the never-ending to-do list, it’s easy to let marriage take a backseat.
For many women in spiritually mismatched marriages, ministry, Bible studies, or serving at church can unintentionally become a place of escape. It’s easy to pour into everything else—while your husband gets the leftovers. I was guilty on this charge!
But love, real love, requires intentionality. It’s not something that grows on autopilot.
The enemy doesn’t have to destroy your marriage—he just has to distract you from prioritizing it.
How do you fight busyness and make Love a priority?
1. Recognize What’s Stealing Your Time
Sometimes, we fill our schedules with good things—yet they still steal time from the best things.
Are you saying yes to too many commitments outside your home?
Do you give more energy to social media than to meaningful conversations with your husband?
Have you been too caught up in routines to notice you’ve stopped being intentional in your marriage?
2. Schedule Time for Your Marriage—Like You Would Anything Else
We schedule work meetings, doctor’s appointments, and church events. Why not schedule intentional time with your husband?
📌 Plan date nights—even at home.
📌 Set phone-free zones where you are fully present.
📌 Start the day with a hug and a kind word instead of rushing past each other.
3. Be Present in the Small Moments
Busyness isn’t just about a packed schedule—it’s about a distracted mind. You can be sitting next to your husband “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:15-16

3. Be Present in the Small Moments
Busyness isn’t just about a packed schedule—it’s about a distracted mind. You can be sitting next to your husband and still be absent.
Look up from your phone.
Pause before rushing to the next task.
Make eye contact, smile, and truly engage.
4. Choose Love Over Productivity
Some days, the dishes can wait. The emails can wait. The laundry can wait.
But your marriage cannot be put on hold.
Love is an investment. If you don’t sow into it, it won’t grow.
Your husband may not share your faith, but he still needs to feel like a priority in your life.
Don’t let busyness be the excuse that steals the deep connection God desires for your marriage. Choose love. Choose presence. Choose to make your husband feel valued.
This week, be intentional in reclaiming that time for love. ❤️✨ still be absent.
