Should I? Or shouldnt I?

Okay i’m supposed to get my birth control shot tomorrow. And i dont know if I should or shouldnt. From what I’m reading it takes on average a year to get pregnant after coming off but could take up to 18 months to even regulate my cycle again. What was your experience with this??? We definitely want more kids. He wants more but has said he wants to wait but cant give me a reason why. He has said its my decision when it comes to how the kids are spaced. Im the primary/default parent and have no family or friends to help but I’m doing just fine. Currently have a 3 yo, 1yo. I want them all to be close in age. Should i stop taking it now? Or one more?

I would not take depo. I went off it 2 1/2 years ago and haven't been able to get pregnant. With the lawsuits coming out about increased risks for meningiomas I won't go back on it after I'm done having kids either. Honestly a terrible medication in my opinion.

I agree with @Amber Even if you don’t go through with the shot and want to wait a little bit longer, I would explore other birth controls. I personally never went on the shot, but have had friends who did and it messed up their cycles and took a long time to conceive. I feel like coming off most birth controls have that down side, but the shot is extreme 😅

I've never been on the shot bc my mom tried it and had a horrible allergic reaction to it. I've heard so many bad things about the shot. I'd look into other birth control, like maybe a pill or i was allergic to the pill so I got the patch and it worked perfectly and once me and my partner decided to have kids I stopped putting the patch on and within like 6 months we conceived.

I’d stop taking it now if you’re worried about how long it’ll take to conceive after stopping. There are other methods of contraception, or just practice safe sex with a condom until you’re ready to start trying. ❤️

I’ve never been on hormonal BC. I just tracks and use NFP and condoms. The last time I tried to conceive 5yrs ago we conceived in one go. Haven’t been on BC since and I haven’t gotten pregnant since, period comes on time and is exactly 3 days. Mostly I’m scared of weight gain on BC I want to maintain what I’ve lost.

I had the depo shot when I was a teen, it did take a while for my periods to start back but they did. I had the Mirena IUD for 7 years and got it taken out and was still able to get pregnant and have my first child. I decided to get another as my current birth control. My co worker told me about an insertable ring its like thick and white and she said she uses it with success. Her periods comes only after she removes the ring and if she doesn’t want a period that week she will just keep it in. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name maybe google lol

@Kellie same, never on hormonal bc and conceived the first time we had unprotected sex. Obviously to each their own, but I am just so scared of all the side effects, I wouldn't take it.
