Honestly I’d go get a second opinion they have no idea the effects of having another baby because miracles happen everyday. Also there are many things that can go wrong so if it’s an option a vasectomy is a lot safer for both parties
I definitely wouldn’t!!!! Get a second opinion or make him go with the vasectomy, if anything, the vasectomy is reversible
I wouldn’t get your tubes tied. There are so many adverse effects to doing so. You could throw yourself into so many other health issues and annoyances by doing so. My advise would be your husband get clipped or you find a form of birth control that works for you. Tubal ligations can take awhile to recover from but they bring a lot of pain in many other ways. More painful and heavier periods, etc etc
@Layla Caron i have super bad precamsia with both and my blood pressure shot up with both and im shooting to have a hesterctorctomy and have the whole thing removed eventually due to cysts and the angel it is in pushes on my spine canncauses severice cyatica pain
@Samantha he isn't forcing it. It's my choice after I had discussed it he wanted to get a vasectomy so i wasnt the only one.
@Meghan Hathaway I understand honestly the best way I have heard of is an ablation because your tubes can become untied it’s something to look into but honestly I wish you the best of luck. I know and understand it’s a very hard choice and I love that your husband will support you and get a vasectomy so you don’t have to go through it alone per se. I’m sorry you have to go through this though my heart goes out to you🥺🫶
These are different options as well
@Layla Caron thank you id love more children its just hard to continue to have children when it was so hard for me to even get out of bed with my son. I wish i mentally was able to have more. My daughter biologically isnt my husbands but she doesnt know that rn and he treats her like she is his and i had a whole breakdown and to keep me at ease so i wouldnt feel like he was gonna leave he told me hed get a vasectomy so neither of us could have anymore children. Once i go in june tonmy consulation after my papsmear im going to see what the doctor will do bc if removal is an option im doing it instead of tieing ive been through 5 ius tried the pill and patch the patch wouldnt still i have a nexplynon currently and the shot is out bc im already overweight and dont want t
@Samantha they are both getting fixed because vasectomies are not always 100% and if she was to get pregnant again it can be really bad. This is her choice she didn’t ask for someone to change her mind.
@Meghan Hathaway id recommend a total removal that’s what my sister is getting done the first week of May. Because even with tube removal she had some really bad periods and now has a cyst. That’s just my recommendation
If you want to push it off I’d definitely get an iud first mine was painless I asked for a numbing shot and didn’t feel a thing! I believe they have different ones that last different amounts of years , it would give you time for your kids to get older so you could have an easier recovery eventually!
Getting your tubes tied is not a guarantee that u won’t get pregnant. The uterus has to be removed for there to be zero chances of getting pregnant.
I think iuds are also 100% effective but I could be wrong on that
Girl do it. I’m 23 and had mine removed in January. The recovery is short, I had a laparoscopy, and I was good to go in like two weeks, no side effects, periods are like always, I love it.

I’m not sure if they do it differently but I’m in Australia and I had mine removed in March after having my son. Very similar situation to you had my daughter two years prior w a few serious complications. We decided baby boy would be our last. My surgeon/obgyn opted to remove my tubes entirely, didn’t clip them or anything. The recovery was a lot better than what I was thinking. Obviously no heavy lifting but I was back to lifting baby after a week or so. I get some twinges here and there but I also think that’s just everything still healing itself back up slowly. For the most part it’s a fault straight forward and ‘easy’ surgery. Obviously recovery time varies from person to person tho. Wishing you luck with it all❤️🩹
I’m not sure as a separate operation but I just had a repeat c section on March 27th and got my tubes removed due to me having ehlers danlos and it getting too hard for me to carry during pregnancy. As far as I’m aware it’s six weeks recovery and same rules as postpartum. I chose to have them removed vs tied due to risk of ectopic pregnancy and history of cancer in my family. I brought up the history of cancer and asked if my OB could remove instead of tie and it was an immediate “yah we could do that instead if you would like”
@Lila ive had 5 iuds my body keeps rejecting them
idk why, feels like some people here are going ‘omg you’re young you can change your mind’ but if your body is better off with doing it, defo consult about it and go from there! i haven’t heard of someone 21 getting it done and they usually recommend you get kids first which you have so defo consult about it!
I highly advise you to consider this again I have heard bad side effects heavier periods and it's not fair you have to sterilize yourself girl at 21. I'm 21 and would much rather be single than be forced to sterilize myself vasectomy is a safer option and getting tubes tied is an in patient procedure while vasectomy is out patient
