I am so scared to get pregnant again

How do I stay safe? Can someone please tell me about coils which are best etc..or do I just stick to condoms because I'm so scared of anything going in there that far like coils.

Is there a reason you can’t take pills or a shot?

i have the hormonal IUD and its worked so far (7.5 months postpartum). you can also double up with condoms/pulling out but with an iud it doesnt really give any extra protection so we dont and haven’t had any issues yet! my periods do seem to be longer though (they used to be super heavy for 6-7 days straight and now theyre lighter for 8-9 days) so that kinda sucks but honestly im glad i got it. my doctor said its best to get it at your 6 week appointment (thats when i got it) because your cervix is still soft from birth but you can get it at any time! prewarning you do spot for about 3-6 months (i think) after you get it in. some woman dont spot at all, some only spot a little, i spotted off and on for about 4 months until i got my official period. message me if you have any other questions too! im no expert but i can tell you what i know haha

also everyone says it hurts like hell to get it in but honestly it wasnt too bad, just breathe through it and try not to focus on it. it was definitely crampy but it only takes like 1 minute to get it in and youre done. i did feel a little lightheaded afterwards but after i sat for a second it went away

Eat half a green papaya every month. It will flush everything and make your period start. I found out it out unfortunately when I was pregnant and miscarried.

@Ashley I literally have never taken anything for contraction in my entire 35 years and know nothing about it.

@Jaylean thank you xx

There’s options besides coils if you’re iffy about them, but want to try other contraception methods. The pill, patch, and shot wouldn’t go in you. Nuvaring is also an option it goes in you, but is self inserted and self removed, so not the procedure/all the way up there of the coil if that’s too scary for you. I’d still suggest condoms as contraceptions listed above don’t prevent STDS, but I understand wanting to make extra sure you don’t get pregnant. I’d recommend talking to your doctor to figure out the best choice for you.
