Baby eczema

My baby has eczema and we are currently using a child’s farm cream which is fragrance free and can be used for eczema but she seems to be a bit itchy still, as she is scratching herself in certain places where the eczema is which is making me think it is irritating her still. What creams is everyone using for it which seem to be helping?

Aveeno cleared up my LBs eczema on his arms. He got a couple of sore patches in his groin and the only thing that seemed to clear that up was La Roche-Posay Baby Cicaplast B5 Multi-Purpose Repairing Balm. Hope you find something that works soon!

I was given a really mild steroid from my GP. Used it once & it was clear the next day! I couldn’t believe it. We only use it when my little boy has a flare up which is very rare now x

Same as above with the steroid cream. Took a few days though. Also got a prescription for some soap for the bath that doesn't dry the skin out. We stay on top of it with Aveeno now and he seems fine x

We use nala baby night time oil every single night! And then use a little bit of talcum powder first thing just to get rid of any moisture that has been irritating him through the night! And when it’s really bad we will sometimes give him a little bit of liquid antihistamines to ease it for him

We have cetraben & dermol 500 prescribed but both can be bought over the counter. Use the dermol in the bath

Child’s farm, Nala baby, all of the ‘eczema friendly’ products you find in the baby aisle at boots/superdrug are realllly not the best for eczema, its all marketing & the ingredients are awful for damaged broken skin. Products like epaderm, double base & dermal are the types of brands and products a dermatologist would prescribe so it’s best to try those over the overpriced stuff in the baby aisles (coming From someone who has paid £££ to see a private dermatologist)

I didn’t find anything helped my baby, so we get a moisturiser on prescription with the matching bath wash and it’s called Double Base. It’s suuuuuper thick and moisturising and we put it on every morning and evening after his bath and omg it cleared him up completely! He sometimes gets flare ups and they prescribe hydrocortisone to use for 2-3 days which is also incredible. Thought I’d share as we tried every brand of moisturisers and creams and nothing worked apart from this, he was a new baby after!

We have epimax for our lg. We use a thin layer twice a day and keeps it at bay. We were putting a lot on but found it made it worse as her sweat couldn't escape

@Chloe thank you so much for this, I’m going to give the double base a go! 🫶🏼

Thank you so much everyone 💗
