So I was recently diagnosed with a yeast infection and given 3 pills to take to cure it. So I took one and did some research on the medication.. only to read it’s not recommended in pregnancy. I called the obgyn on call and was told not to continue taking those and use monistat instead. Like wth now im worried shitless.. she said since I only took one im fine because it’s only 100 mg 😩

@Kristen the obgyn on call told me discontinue it so I definitely am. 😩 nervous wreck right now. Baby moving around right now so im at ease and I go to maternal fetal medicine Monday

Was it fluconazole? The single dose isn’t harmful but it’s not recommended to do the 3 day regimen or longer ☠️ I’m so sorry! If it helps ease your mind at all, babies are most affected my medications in the first trimester. Your baby has a lot more defenses now than before
@Amber yes ! The obgyn on call told me the single dose was fine since it was only 100mg

I'd trust your OB that it's okay and try not to stress about it. Why in the world would they prescribe medicine not recommended for pregnancy to someone who is pregnant? That person has no business prescribing medicine.
