Was it prescribed by the hospital? If so the hospital pharmacy needs to dispense it to you. If you’re going to be on it until 12 weeks then you can ask them if it’s possible to get your local GP to dispense however some GPs don’t like doing it.

@Rashelle i got given it by EPU to take until 16weeks

I assumed i did it with my gp, i never asked and i probably should of 😂

I took mine to the pharmacy :)

@Lauren oh baby brain is a real thing hun it’s ok 😂. You need to get it dispensed by the hospital. Call to see if their pharmacy is open today and get it, just to avoid too many days going by where you haven’t taken it.

Congratulations also 🥳

Pharmacy

@Gemma your local one?

@Rashelle thank you x ik i just took it and i got home realised idk what to do with it

@Lauren hey may I ask how you got prescribed it as I wanna ask the epu for it as I’ve had two back to back miscarriages and having the same symptoms as my miscarriages x

@Larissa i went for a scan today to check for viability and they asked me if i wanted to go on it, i have a history of recurrent miscarriage so i assume it was just protocol, i also got a referral to be monitored closer too so you might be able to get that too x i hope youre okay and you get seen x

@Larissa what symptoms are you experiencing? X i got told to go in if i had any bleeding or pain asap

@Lauren thankyou I’m planning to ring up Tuesday I’m okay just scared of the same things happening for a third time xx

@Larissa if you already have a history of recurrent miscarriages, it’s something they should ask from the start, as well as aspirin. I would call tomorrow, also ensure that whatever you discuss over the phone that they are recording onto your electronic records.

@Rashelle thankyou who should I ask I’m around 4 weeks 3 days today xx

@Lauren sorry only just seen this, mainly back pain is just unbearable lately xx

Your gp will prescribe it to you once you have hospital notes about progesterone. I took it am and pm until 16 weeks and baby aspirin 150mg until 36 weeks both from a positive pregnancy test. I had 3 losses before finally carrying a healthy and happy boy who’s now 5 month old and feeding right now 🥰

@Renia I’m just unsure how to get the prescription i have, I’ll speak to my pharmacy to see what they say before i travel back to the hospital

@Lauren I had notes written from the hospital suggesting this course of treatment with future pregnancies. I then called the gp to book an appointment and I brought it with me although hospital send it to my gp or the nhs docs as well and I’ve asked for prescription. I had it all ready as picked it up from a pharmacy with my 3rd pregnancy but lost that one but kept the meds and I fallen preg two months later and immediately start using it. How far along are you and what are your symptoms. I am confused as to why the hospital hasn’t given you some immediately

@Renia i got my prescription for it today, im unsure why they offered it today because id been told no for this pregnancy x im 7weeks3days, i dont have any symptoms I just need to get the progesterone but unsure if i can go to my local pharmacy or if i need to go to the hospital for them to for fill it 😂 its not helpful its a bank holiday and im unsure on times too or if they are even open

So it depends how they’ve prescribed it If it’s a green prescription it can go to any pharmacy If it’s an in house hospital prescription (they’re usually white) that needs to go to the hospital pharmacy If it’s a prescription letter of request to continue prescribing it needs to go to the GP

@Lauren okay, that’s very confusing. Why would they prescribe it without any symptoms and suggested that you don’t take it. Why were you at the hospital today lovely?

@Lauren that’s exactly what I had

@Renia i have a history of recurrent miscarriage thats all that’s probably wrong but i feel perfectly fine i just feel pregnant with my symptoms i haven’t had any bleeding or cramping They were rejecting me for it but after my scan today (ive been getting more scans and monitoring), they thought i could benefit from it, they missed my miscarriage history and i had a different more thorough doctor today

@Lauren okay so someone has prescribed it as a precaution in case of a bleed? If I was you I’d take it asap, that’s what I did from positive pregnancy test. Did today scan shown a heartbeat?

@Lauren yes any pharmacy (bear in mind not all will have stock and will have to order it. How long are you on it for? If it’s over the 28 days the hospital will need to send a letter to the go to do the repeat

@Renia im unsure they never said a reason but they didnt seem worried or like it was urgent, they told me to get the prescription when i had the time in the next few weeks ill definitely do it asap but i wont stress myself out over it i feel confident that my pregnancy is fine, idk how to explain it but all my other pregnancies i just felt dread constantly like it was temporary but with my son and this one i just feel relaxed and i dont seem to consider it as a possibility, it still could end bad obviously but my gut feeling isnt acting crazy Yeah baby was perfectly healthy measuring right on time, amazing heartbeat x i have a son he was my 4th pregnancy i never took anything for him or had any problems, this baby is my 7th pregnancy

@Lauren big congratulations sweetheart, what a blessing! Absolutely let’s just enjoy it and be as calm and happy as possible. You’re already a mum so you know what to expect and progesterone can wait a couple of days 🩷

@Renia thank you x im glad you finally got your rainbow baby too and all the support you needed x yeah it does help knowing what to expect, the progesterone is new to me tho so thats going to be a fun experience

@Lauren thank you 🙏🏻 Make sure you’ll pee first then insert and lie down for I think 30 minutes to make sure it stays and absorbs. I remember I had to get up little bit earlier for work to accommodate the treatment and also couldn’t go out after work but had to rush back home to do the pm treatment as it’s every 12 hours. If you have any questions I am here x
