Maternity loneliness

Does anyone else feel lonely on maternity leave, plus my baby was premature and not hitting milestones and it’s starting to get me feeling really disappointed!

It is very lonely and isolating. I have felt the same but tried to get out and about for walks and local classes at my library to feel better. I still feel lonely at times but have found getting out has helped a little bit.

@A thanks, I’m starting some classes today hopefully that’ll help. We got this 💪

Always feel lonely. It’s horrible but as for hitting the milestones, relax. They are guild lines only and every child is different and will do things in their own time. My first son didn’t hit most milestone at the “correct” age. Didn’t speak til he was almost three but he’s absolutely fine (and now doesn’t shut up 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🤣🤣)

Very lonely! I agree. And Jo is right, every baby is so so different. Although I know, first hand, it is hard not to worry. For instance, my baby is a heavy drooler, like since 2 months and I find myself comparing all the time and being so worried. But by all accounts she is perfectly healthy and seems fine. And everything says drooling is normal (even though I don’t see other babies wearing and drenching bibs like she does).

My baby was 3 weeks early and also seems behind his peers too 🫶🏼 he’s not sitting whatsoever , has never rolled , and still not really bringing items to his mouth. He only discovered his feet this week. The only thing he can bring to his mouth properly is his fists which he eats constantly 😅
