Before I had my second child I had the arm implant and unfortunately it snapped in my arm and it was so painful and it just put me off it , I think if it wasn’t such a battle for them to have a look and take it out I probably would of had another one but it took them weeks to even acknowledge there was an issue with it, I can not take one of the pills as I had a blood clot in 2018, and like I said in previous post I just couldn’t get on with the injection my moods were so all over the place, so I do feel this is my last attempt of trying to use contraception, it sucks as a woman we have to pick between good mental health or not getting pregnant x
Agree it sucks!! I’ve had the arm implant twice and had a negative experience with a student taking it out last time, she rooted around for ages which was really painful and now I have a big scar. Trying to convince my husband to get a vasectomy 😅 I’m kind of almost wanting a 3rd at some point but he says he’s 2 and done, so that should be motivation
I had the copper coil and love it! First period was rough, second period back to normal xx
I got mine in November and I got copper bc all hormonal contraceptives effect my mood big time, and I can confirm that I have had heavier, longer periods, but not more painful.. but that's just me... however I used to have 4 days periods and I am currently on day 9 🫠 you can try one and then get them changed over tho if they don't work for you x
Thank you all for your input☺️☺️ hopefully all goes well tomorrow😊
They all affect everyone differently so it’s a game of trial and error unfortunately. For me the non hormonal copper coil was actual hell. Insertion was really painful (was before having kids though) and then I had horrible painful cramping and heavy bleeding literally for 6 months straight before begging them to take it out. Nexplanon arm implant has been the best for me but I’ve also heard negative experiences from others with that one
