Boy moms (uncircumcised)… help!

OK so I have already asked my baby boy’s pediatrician how to clean my boy’s private parts. As per his pediatrician: no pulling down the foreskin at all not even a bit! I was doing the opposite and very gently pulling down only until it allowed me to which was not much really. I started not pulling down or at least not as much after I asked his dr, but I notice like if the foreskin has closed that I can’t even pull down as before and it scares me because there were times (when I did pul down) some white (sebum?) came out but now that I stopped I don’t even feel like I am cleaning him correctly. Not sure if his foreskin might open up as before as I am now afraid to even pull it down slightly. Also he is peeing normally as on some diaper changes he pees on me so I am convinced that it is not completely closed but I don’t know what to think honestly. How are you moms cleaning it??! What have your drs told you.

We were always told the same. Don't pull it down. I think as he got older we encouraged him to pull it down to clean it but he mightve been maybe 3 or so at that point. It's one of those things I wish they'd teach new boy mums because it really is a mystery!!

Not to sound rude but I've never ever heard of pulling down a baby's foreskin? Not sure why you would, you just clean everything without pulling it down

@Lucy Sky me too. I haven’t ever heard anything besides wash the area just generally without touching it specifically. 🫨

He boo!!! I know exactly what you’re talking about lol my husband just taught me about cleaning that piece of skin once you stretch out the penis skin backwards. But after our baby was circumcised we did not not touch it until he was completely healed. And then gave him a thorough cleansing. We just changed the bandages daily and wiped the area gently to avoid irritation. We use water wipes. Now my lil buddy is healed perfectly and we clean his foreskin at every bath time. It awkward cleaning it for the first time if you never seen it before lol. Baby boys can get lint and built up, that white stuff you’ve mentioned. So you’d definitely want to clean it often during washes so they don’t get a rash or something. Ps my baby boy is 3 months now. You’re doing a great job mama! ☺️💕✨

@Sera Kay ✨ its unnecessary especially on a baby

You don’t need to pull it down until the skin “breaks” on its on, then it will start to move. You risk infection by trying to pull it down. My son had a uti at 3 months so they had to break his skin, so I’ve been pulling it back to clean since then. That would literally be the only scenario where you would need to pull the skin back. Clean it as normal, do not pull back the skin at all not even a little

@Sajada he doesn't have foreskin to pull down if he's circumcised though.

You'll notice as he gets older that the skin won't be as tight. He just has to grow.

@Monét the post says uncircumcised x

@Lucy Sky yes... what are you saying here? She was talking about her sons circumcision when OP isn't

@Monét what? Ha

@Monét trying to understand what you're going on about

@Lucy Sky what's the confusion really? You corrected me on a convo you didn't read. I wasn't talking to OP. You're confused because you weren't paying attention

Thank you everyone for your feedback. For those worried. I was not pulling back my sons foreskin to the point i was forcing it back. I was gently doing so to clean this white stuff. I feel better now that I have to leave it alone and the skin will eventually not be as tight. I was just worried this was not the norm. Thanks again 🩵

@Lucy Sky she was responding to the lady talking about her son’s circumcision, hence the tag of the women she was replying to. Her comment isn’t towards the OP (original poster), If it was there would be no tag. Hope that makes sense…
