I had the IUD and it was perfectly fine for a little over a year. Then after that I had some small complications like back and stomach cramps that wouldn’t subside. I think you just need to find what birth control works for you and your body. Some people love the IUD while others hate it or had complications. Maybe if you’re nervous about it try a different form of birth control.
@s a r a 🥀 did you experience spotting, random cramps, pain during sex, hormonal acne?
@𝓛𝓮𝓷𝓪 ✨ i had nexplanon in my teen years, didn’t like it. i just don’t want something that’s altering all my hormones
After the IUD I ended up doing the patch method and it’s been the best for me. I’ve tried all of them apart from nexplanon cause I’m scared to do that one. 😂
With my first, I didn’t experience cramping, spotting or pain during sex. Maybe hormonal acne but it cleared up but when I got pregnant again, my acne came back 😭 I got back on it back in February after having my second baby. A little bit of spotting/bleeding, no cramps, no pain during sex and my acne has faded.
I'm team no birth control. I like knowing exactly what's going on with my cycle and hormones. We use condoms religiously. 15 years, never had a pregnancy scare. Got pregnant on purpose our 2nd try
Totally understand being nervous! It’s important to look at the effectiveness of the birth control you choose too. Cycle tracking of family planning is less effective
The IUD was literally the worst decision I ever made. It came detached and reattached on vaginal wall. My husband could feel it when we had sex and it was horribly painful. It landed right on a nerve and caused me to faint several times during sex. When I got it taken out it refused to come out for about 30 minutes and hurt so bad when the doctor got it out I fainted again. 0/10 recommend.
@Jade same! when i was on nexplanon i stopped getting a period, it felt so unnatural. we only use condoms during my ovulation window, we both prefer to not wear one lol
@Haley true it’s less effective, but there’s no side effects. i really can’t decide which id rather have
@Alanna Roper ugh that’s awful! i’m sorry you had that experience. was it copper or hormonal?
It was hormonal the mirena!
I track. It doesn’t cause me any anxiety my period comes every month and lasts 3 days and has for the last 5yrs since my last baby. Tracking works for me but then again I don’t have anxiety in any other form. I haven’t been on any hormonal BC for about 15years
I have the Mirena IUD. I had it since my teenage years to now and I’m in my mid-late 20’s. I also just had my second baby 5 months ago. I love it. My one and only birth control too.
