Questions🙂

Hiya I’m 8+4 by period had a scan today and I’ve been put back to 7+3, today is my first day taking progesterone at 400mg I’m a bit confused on how this works the doctor didn’t really tell me a lot on what to do, all she said was take one in the morning and Evening, so I have a few questions; Can I take the pessary before I go to bed? If I put it as far up as I can if it’s not far enough will my body still absorb it? Did anyone have any symptoms on it? Do I take it at the same time In the morning as I did at night so it’s a full 12 hours? Please can someone help a girl out as I don’t want to do it wrong thank you 🩷🩷🩷

Congratulations! I can only tell you what I did and you can take from that as you wish. This was my first pregnancy with progesterone and I’m now 17 weeks (today) and my first successful pregnancy. I took my pessary half an hour before I was due to wake up, and then just before I went to bed. Mine wasn’t the full 12 hours but I have been fine. Put it as far up as your fingers will allow, you don’t need to worry, your body will absorb. Symptoms - generally I was fine but I did find I gained a lot of wait in the first trimester, but as soon as I came off them it dropped so was likely water retention. Good luck! Xx

@Holly congratulations this is the first time taking them after having 8 misscarriges after my son, so I’m freaking out a bit, I see baby yesterday and there was a good heart beat, last night and this morning is the first time taking progesterone and I did it before I went to bed and I done it about 10 mins ago I’m usally really sick in the mornings and today I haven’t been… is that something to worry about? Xx

Do not worry one bit. I know easier said than done. At around 8 weeks my symptoms dipped and then came back. But for some they don’t come back at all. You saw little bean yesterday and they were growing big and strong so hold on to that. This is my 8th pregnancy and I’ve been so nervous the whole way through. Still even now. But take each little win and hold on to it until the next one. Little one is snug as a bug, safe and sound. Are they doing regular scans for you at the EPU? Xx

@Holly I’m so scared I had an internal yesterday and had a bit of pain after and it’s freaking me out, and no I’m not having regular scans but I might as I’m a high risk pregnancy as I had a c section with my first born and I had low PAPPA with my first too so could possibly have that again, thank you for reassuring me as I’m so scared about this pregnancy as I just want it to go the way I want it to go this is my last baby and I just want to be happy and not worry but it’s so hard when you have been through what we both have xx

Trust me, the worry is debilitating sometimes. But you’ve got to try and remain calm. If you’re concerned about the pain contact the EPU - it’s better to be safe rather than sorry. But try and hold on to the fact you saw them yesterday and their little heartbeat was big and strong! When you’ve been in our position it’s such a worrying time. There are no words for it really. Even now I’m convinced something is going to take this miracle away from me. But I have to keep putting myself in check and remind myself that everything is ok and every time I have a scan little one is growing big and strong. Positive thoughts - but if you’re worried then never be afraid to get checked xx

Also try and remember that aches and pains are normal and natural. I know it’s so so triggering. Trust me I do. I remember the first few months having the worst period pains, and every time I would sit and worry for the worst. 💔 xx
