She traveled an hour to our home. And I’m pretty sure Petersburg is like an hour from charlottesville so I may try that!
If you haven’t already you should already qualify for Medicaid just because you’re pregnant and all prenatal care& delivery should be covered.
@Klysse we have insurance, we just have a 2k deductible
@Hayley Rae you can have Medicaid as a secondary insurance. Which helps make things a lot cheaper. (Made everything free) That’s what I did if that makes sense lol. I’m pretty sure for pregnancy Medicaid your income doesn’t matter.
@Klysse Thank you I will totally call and see. I really hated my experience last time and would really like to be home this time
@Hayley Rae you’re welcome! Dominique and all of the nurses and doulas she brought to our home were absolutely AMAZING. So if you go through them I’m sure you’ll have a much better experience. I’m considering doing the same for my next baby
It’s a birthing center in Bon Air she was $6300 out of pocket cost.
We did a home birth with a midwife and it was around 7,000
Check out three rivers midwifery in Suffolk, Va. they have a birthing center and take insurance. If a midwife doesn’t take insurance usually they offer a prepaid birthing package for at home; I’ve looked at midwives in multiple states and have seen it.
River City Midwifery, $5500
@Summer I was looking at them! I wonder if it would be cheaper if I did my well ultrasounds with an Ob and all the labs so it’s covered via insurance if it would be any cheaper. I know I just need to meet with them and talk to them
@Hayley Rae feel free to message me! They refer out for ultrasounds and lab work goes through insurance
@Klysse THANK YOU! I will look into her!
