Just a venting mama 😩

So I’m currently on the final written warning with my job and I’ve been told that I can’t miss any more days. last Friday I had to call out during my shift because of my 11 month old who was in severe need. now I’m on eggshells because I’m expected to return today and no one has given me an answer on what’s going to happen next. Part of me is anxious to know if I’ve been fired.. I would be very scared if I was fired because I don’t have another job lined up, but apart of me would also be relieved because of how demanding and stressful it is. Any thoughts or opinions? I’ve been trying my best to calm down this morning, but I am so anxious.

I know it’s easier said than done- but take a breath. Know that everything will be okay. Be proud of who you are, what you’re capable of, and the fact that you’re trying your best working and being a mom. I’d encourage you to try to seek some kind of accommodation like WFH it this job really means a lot to you. Talk to your supervisor.

@Kalee thank you so much. It’s a WFH job and with being a SAHM to an 11 month old, I’m the only parent so when baby needs me I have to do what’s best for her.

I’m so sorry. You don’t deserve that kind of pressure! You’re just trying to take care of your baby. Workers have lives outside of work.

My last job was so not understanding. I worked at a hospital and they were constantly asking like well how many hours have your worked so far? Have you asked your coworker if they need help with anything else before you go? Like daycare says my kid has to go home because he's sick so that doesn't really matter!?? Or the time he had a severe reaction to eggs and had to go to the ER. This new job the supervisors are great they understand I need to call out if daycare sends him home. I hope you just find a job that Is more understanding. The stress from work was insane

Just an update ladies, I just spoke with my unit manager and they are waiting on HR to approve my termination. They said it could take 1-3 days and it is so hard for me to keep taking calls from upset customers knowing I’m about to be fired 😭😭

I would quit girl. Looks better then being fired😭 sorry mamas

Damn girl I'm so sorry. I'd start filling out online application for unemployment right now and also verify their reasoning for firing you example: too many absences Then at the next job interview I would explain you have a baby and have had to leave work for issues and check with them if that would be an issue during interview. It's a good way to make them see you have valid reasons for your termination and let's you gage how flexible they are with absences if you need to in the future.

@Danielle better to be fired so she can collect unemployment for now

@Elisha it’s tough mentally to take upset calls knowing I’m being fired but I’m waiting until they terminate me so I can file for unemployment because this is my only source of income

Can you collect unemployment if they fire you for “not fulfilling your duties?”

I can't imagine feel free to message me if you'd like. Not sure what kind of jobs you'd be open to/qualify for but I've looked into but working for the government has been a blessing for me. I'm sole everything for my son. So I'm always looking at jobs/updating my resume prepping for the worst to happen.

@Grayson every state is different but that's definitely why she should double check the reasoning for her termination! Ugh American workforce has never been mom friendly. It's why so many moms don't return to work after having babies.

@Grayson I hope so, I’m really unsure but yes they would be terminating me due to attendance

@Elisha yes I’m open to all options at this point
