@Jessica $173 an hour is nice! I can’t even imagine. It’s hard to travel with the little one
It depends on your support system I have a 5YR old and will have a newborn in March. It took some time but I only work 12 days a month and never bring work home.
Omg what kind of nurse!? I recently got terminated from my peds RN role for calling in sick after getting covid from a patient 😭 Anywho, I was looking into travel nursing but don’t want to do it alone 😂
@Aniza my mom started it with one of her friends she was working with and they do short term rentals or hotels for the stay of time depending on what’s cheaper and her current contract is a week on a week off. But I would for sure look into travel/staff agency nursing.
@Aniza ohh she’s an ER/ICU nurse
Do you know what agency she works those contracts through? Rates are just super low everywhere right now, unless there’s strike pay. I also have a 1 year old so I feel like it would be extremely hard to do contracts further than DFW bc of mom guilt.
I’m not sure of the agency but I believe there are a few in Dallas I know last year she had a contract up in Frisco and it was for 3 months and she made $60,000. She’s also been a nurse for 30+ years
@Jessica now you really have to get us the agency name 😅
@Jessica wow in 3 months! Thats impressive
Have you looked into becoming a nurse practitioner? You could make more and go into more advanced roles
I’m a pilot and make $173hr currently and get a pay raise yearly. It’s been a fun career if you willing to go back to school? If going back to school isn’t an option my mother did travel/staff nursing and makes what she used to make yearly in a few months
