Free hours!

Hi all, This question has probably been asked to death but I’m so confused over the 15 free hours! I don’t go back to work until till November when my LO will be 1…can I not apply for the hours to start in November ? do I have to pay until January then start then? Thanks

It will be January. You need to be back to work and little one needs to be in nursery by the time the nursery apply for their funding (late September I think). I’m the same it’s annoying but I want the extra time with my girl. So I’m paying the full bill till Jan and will start it then xx

I'm with you the whole thing, confuses me even about how to apply, let alone how it works with a nursey xx

Thank you @Abbie my friends have managed it but when asked it doesn't get explained. So with nursery's do you just go and find one and then get the code or do you get the code and then find a nursey this is where I am seriously getting confused as I my work mucked me about when it came back to going back then I have now gone back but I missed the cut off for the September start would it still work for the Jan help? Xx

@Abbie thank you so much 💓 xx

If you're maternity ends in November then it'll start in Jan. I don't go back to the office til November as I'm using up annual leave in October, so my annual leave starts on the 30th September/maternity ends 29th September, so I can the hours from September.

Don’t forget as well you should apply for ‘tax free’ child care so you get 20% off. Basically you 80% into the gov account and they top up the remaining 20% directly to the child care provider xx
