Help with RTW work anxiety

I’m currently on maternity leave, due to go back in January and I’m shitting it. I haven’t been to visit the ward I work on in months because the thought of it is so scary to me. I only worked on the ward for about a year and a half before leaving for maternity leave and honestly hardly have any friends there. I love my job and I do want to keep working there but I’m so scared to go in and even get my shifts sorted- I also need to apply for flexible working which I’m scared will get rejected and il have work somewhere else I have some of my coworkers on Facebook and they do ask me to come visit but my anxiety is so bad I just put it off :/ Any advice?

What is it that has been and continues to scare you? Do you have a good relationship with your manager? Might be worth talking to them about how you're feeling. Of course there is a risk that a flexi working application can be rejected but you can scope that out when discussing with your manager who is hopefully supportive. X

I’m due back in February and I’m really anxious! I’ve been there 5 years and rarely staff leave however when I went on MAT leave 3 members of staff left and new people joined who I haven’t met🫣

I'm sure they'll love you and look forward to your return. They'll probably look to you for help as you've been there longer than they have. Maybe a kit day or two would help the anxiety. Use it to your advantage instead of throwing yourself in the deep end when you go back. X
