Maternity Allowance!

Hello! I just wanted to ask if anyone has any ideas on how the Maternity Allowance payments work? I've sent off all the forms and my MATB1, etc, and they've sent a letter back with a reply form for me to fill out and post back once I've stopped working. My last working day (providing baby doesn't come before then!) is the 14th November, so I'll send the form back then, but when do the payments start? Will they back-date it to the 14th November or? Hope that makes sense! Thank you in advance 😊

Hiya yes they backdate it to the date you requested on the form. I’ve just started my maternity leave and got the first payment today with the starting period as the 1st of the month

@Jo I sent my form and arrived with them last week! How long did it take you to hear from them?

It took them weeks to get back to me to be honest. Maybe three weeks?
