@Jayde that’s helpful to know thank you! Holiday year is April so I’ll be handing it in way before then. just don’t know wether to hand it in November/December when my last stat pay would be payed or wether to leave it until March when my 12 months would almost be up? Or would it not make a difference either way…sorry for all the questions lol
If you wait until March then you'll get the full 17 days holiday, but if you do it at the end of December then your done with the company sooner and will probably only miss out on 2-3 days accrual.
Right that makes sense! Amazing thank you so much :)
It doesn't matter what it says in your contract. Legally, they have to pay you for any holiday days you have accrued and not used. I would just make sure that you hand your notice in before the new holiday year starts because they dont have to carry over all 17 days, but this may also result in you having accrued less than thr 17 days If you only got paid SMP, then you don't have anything to pay back to them as they didn't pay you. The government did. Also, nothing else that I can think you will be entitled to when you resign other than accrued holidays and your pay for any hours worked.
