@Lisa Ahh do you ah that’s a real shame isn’t it I was hoping it was going to be a bit flexible xx
Ask them and they might be able to accommodate
I used to work for Aldi, in my interview I explained I could only do 3 days and they had to be the same every week. They were very accommodating. Explain in your interview, you never know. Good Luck
Does the job you've applied for not have a schedule pattern advertised? Most supermarkets will expect at least one weekend day and prefer to hire someone with a degree of flexibility, but shouldn't officially be able to hold it against you that you have childcare responsibilities. So have a think about what you could realistically do and be honest e.g if you're scheduled for a Monday 10-14 would you be able to do slightly earlier, later, move the shift to Tues if needed, work Sunday occasionally instead of Saturday etc. More mature employees with more responsibilities tend to be better hires than people with full flexibility to work as are usually more dependable, will stay in job longer and work harder so don't count yourself out but have realistic expectations. Sometimes it can depend on the department and the size of the shop too. Larger shops with higher takings will need less flexibility than a convenience store for example. I'm an ex shop manager btw!
You could always take the job and then apply for flexible working x
Tesco’s are amazing !
You might find that the rotas change frequently and you will get two weeks notice. Not very helpful with childcare.
