It's a postcode lottery some areas of country it's only offered to childless, and you'll be exempt, some will offer you a go. But there's also lots of hoops to jump through like both having healthy BMI etc It all depends on your NHS trust. First step is speak to your GP and get the bloods done. Some do this free and some it's charable as it's more than the basic blood panel. Alternatively you could pay at a fertility clinic for the full MOT and once you have results go to GP and discuss. Good luck lovely. I hope it works out for you!
I think that unfortunately if you already have a child then you won’t be eligible for treatment on the nhs, but if you are; they usually run though your history etc, and then refer for testing for you and your partner, testing usually includes a scan, checking your tubes aren’t blocked via some sort of dye and then a sperm test xx
I'd imagine the GP will at least run some basic hormone panel blood tests then probably referral to gynae. Issue then is what gynae will offer, I'd think they still possibly offer a scan to see if their is any issues. Maybe ovulation induction if you aren't ovulating but anything more will depend on the policy for that postcode area as to if you would be eligible.
It does depend however they can do basic tests at the doctors. I had a 6 year old and was trying to nearly 2 years, they ran tests on me and everything came back normal and then they said my husband would have to go for a sperm test but we had said if we get to june last year and I didn’t happen we would go but thankfully I conceived in march that year so we didn’t need to go for testing but I think it’s always harder to have your second. Have you tried pregnacare him and her tablets? They helped me conceive all my boys they are fab. I would strongly recommend them. I also think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves and the minute I distracted myself with other things I fell pregnant so I think it’s best to just enjoy yourself x
They may be able to give you a prescription that boosts your fertility first as well!
I had IVF if I remember rightly the 1st step was blood tests for me, I was also referred for a scan (can’t remember if that was arranged by gp or consultant now) and sperm sample for the man, once the results were back, gp referred onto a consultant (our results did show a clear issue) but that was several years ago now
