Maternity leave

Hello ladies. The broker that works with our company insurance told me that basically in regards of the maternity leave based on FMLI law I will get: Vaginal birth 6 maternity leave + 6 for bonding C section 8 maternity leave + 4 for bonding. I had a C section but I am not understanding why as I have 2 weeks more for recovery than I have to give up 2 weeks for bonding. This doesn’t make any sense. Asking hoping someone of you knows better then me Thank you ladies

Unfortunately, vaginal delivery or c section, FMLA is only 12 weeks

In NY its 6 + 1 week for vaginal and 8 + 1 for a c-section, only paid by short term disability if you’ve been paying into it, plus 12 weeks paid at 67% of your salary from The state or whatever your company pays, and that's all I got, every state is different. Its up to 26 weeks but that's if you need a additional time for a medical reason.

This sounds like you’re in California maybe? And it’s essentially showing you have 12 weeks total it’s either to recover or for bonding

Sorry didn’t mentioned the state, I am in Colorado

In Calofornia we have disability (6 or 8 weeks) + bonding (12 weeks) so disability doesn’t take away from bonding it’s cumulative
