Hi mamas! From January I’ll be getting SMP pay from work which is roughly £700/pm before tax. I wanted to know if there’s anything else I can apply for to get more £££??? Will be hard having such a big cut in pay and will put a lot of pressure on me and my partner. Any tips / advice is appreciated!

Check and see if you can claim universal credit

It’s rubbish we didn’t qualify for anything so literally get £800 a month to pay all bills when mortgage is most of that. If you work you seem to get penalised 🤷🏻‍♀️ the system is all wrong !!

I'm literally about to go speak to my boss about returning to work early because maternity is so shocking. Its a sad state of affairs and they wonder why people have stopped having children x

You can claim universal credit with baby forup to a year, also child benefit once baby is born

Only if you qualify for them.
