Going back 3 days. Our lifestyle doesn’t cost a fortune. We are lucky enough that our mortgage, bills and food shops can come out of one salary and my salary will top it up so we can afford to do nice things as a family/home improvements. I think everyone’s situation is just different. Me and my partner were together 10 years before having our baby so have basically had that time to plan the life we want. X
I’m a single mum so I work 3 days a week and then get support from UC. When my girl gets 30 hours childcare, I will look at increasing my hours.
I'm a carer in a care home and work on the bank. Which means I pick up shifts when my partner is not at work. It means we don't need to worry about childcare as one of us is always at home.
Part time for me is 4 days so I'm still working more than I'm not. I'm lucky to be on a high salary though which helps a lot!
