KIT day payments? HR advice

So this is my second but for my first I only took 1 KIT day and that was when I was on Statutory. In my job I get 6 months full pay and then straight into statutory maternity pay. If I take a KIT day in the first 6 months will that technically be unpaid? Or will I be paid extra on top of my normal salary? I would ask my HR but they take 6 months to respond lol :)

I'm in HR and that will technically be unpaid then. I always advise employees to rake KIT days when their pay runs out or when they go on statutory pay 😊

@Liv thank you!! My manager is super cheeky then 😂 I do not need the social aspect of a CPD day , but I would only consider it, if paid! Thankss x

Might be worth checking your contract / the maternity pay policy at your work, as my KIT days are paid in addition to your mat pay or are given as days off in lieu, no matter if it falls in the paid or unpaid part of your leave.

@Rosie oooh right!! Thanks, I’ll check :)
