Aww bless you sometimes they do choose us first when they feel the time is right! 🙈 I’ve just found out too with baby no2 ! Very overwhelmed. Your little one doesn’t want to miss out the wedding 🥰 and you should definitely hold out untill the 12w scan I’d suggest xx

You don't HAVE to tell them your pregnant until the maternity policy deadline , its a protected status :)

You don’t technically have to tell your place of work until your 25 weeks. Tell them when you feel ready to. However if you have a strenuous job I’d probably tell them sooner rather than later but only to take pressure off of yourself. 🙂 And congratulations! 🫶🏼

Thanks everyone! My company policy states i need to tell me manager asap otherwise i might not qualify for stat mat pay - is that not allowed then??

They normally say 15 (or similar) weeks ahead of intended start date etc. (To allow hr processing time) but outside of that it's a protected status. I don't think you actually HAVE to tell your manager at all normally its just HR

But if you're unsure definitely check with CAB

I'm only 5/6 weeks and I've told work already, but I do work with young people with complex special needs and there is a risk of students lashing out ect so I wanted the risks minimising as soon as possible. If you're feeling well in yourself, and your job isn't particularly strenuous or anything you're 100% allowed to hold off on telling them for a while
