Night shift and weekend work

So I've been offereed an OOH nurse role which is nights and weekend work. I would be doing 3 shifts a week, likely 2/3 weekends a month. How do people manage this with young kids? I have a 2.5 and 11 month old. I can't decide what would be better. My current job is 9 - 9, but I only seen them for half and hour in the morning before work. What have others found works better for family life?

I was emergency nurse by background and moved to the community for family life and I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I was never home and I was completely exhausted from long days when I had my first baby where as now I work mainly 8-430 the odd 8-8 shift and 1 in 4 weekends home for tea every night and that made a huge difference to family life 😌 x

I do 10 long shifts a month, 8 of them are long days or nights (7-19:30). We make those my child’s nursery days and then the other 2 are at the weekend so my husband has the kids. He does nursery pick up and drop off. I think we save a lot of money by only sending him two days a week ☺️

I work a mixture of nights long days earlies and lates and it’s damn hard. Am a single mum of 4 (13,12,8,6) no family support. Luckily I have an amazing childminder who accommodates all my shifts. Without her I couldn’t work literally.
