There is a notes section at the back I explained my situation there so they understood where i was at xx
@sophie was it accepted? X
@Kerry Sadly I havent heard back yet, i sent the form in and I got a text about a week and a half ago saying ill get a reply within 4 weeks so I will update you soon as I hear xx
Ah okay no problem, I know that they can take some time! X
If you use the maternity calculator it will give the date of the first date you can legally go on maternity leave use that to fill it in. Otherwise there’s a number to ring on the last sheet for assistance if ring that.
If you call Maternity Allowance they will answer any questions you have. I didn't know if I had to declare my previous marriage as I'm in the process of getting divorced. I included this in the notes section at the back to be safe so they know where I'm at.
July is too early to start Mat Leave for us with Jan born babies. Also if you’re unemployed, you can’t apply for “Mat Allowance”, because you don’t have an employer to pay you the money. You would have to apply for “Mat Pay”, so you can be paid directly by the government. You should be entitled to Mat Pay. Do use the notes to answer questions correctly and make sure your application gets accepted!! I find the people who work on the Maternity HMRC helpline very helpful. So give them a call to support you.
Hi, I filled out the form and it was accepted, I was in the same situation as you, I selected yes that I’ve already started.
I left work and filled the maternity allowance form, I left in August, I think it’s Maternity Pay if your employer is giving it and Maternity Allowance when we’ve already left and the government is going to pay, I’m not sure if I’m confusing it up though so please double check, as far as I remember I filled the maternity allowance.
I have literally the exact same situation, left in july due in january!!! When i filled in the form I put the date i wanted the pay to begin going into my account so I put the first week of January as im due the 11th xx
