Surestart Maternity Grant

Hey, does anyone know if you can claim the surestart grant if you are pregnant, have an older child but claim Universal Credit?

As far as I know it has to be your first child only. Even if you didn't claim it for your first.

You will not get sure start maternity grant unless you are pregnant you can only claim child tax credits

Sorry, I am 20 weeks pregnant, it’s my second child as I have an older child who is 12 but because I claim UC I wondered if I would be eligible

I have an 11 year old and also on UC I tried to claim it with my second pregnancy and I didn’t get it. The reason they said was because I have another child.
