Glucose Testing PSA

Hey!! I’m actually due at the very end of January and am currently 28 + 5, but wanted to pop in here to share something potentially really important with you about glucose testing. I learned today that you should try to schedule it as early in the morning as you can! I failed the one hour test (glucose level was 143 after a 50g dose glucose drink) and my appointment was at 4:00pm. Today I went in for the three hour test at 7:45am and passed perfectly! At one hour my glucose level was 112 after a 100g dose glucose drink and as I fasted for both tests, I think it’s safe to say that testing in the morning produces the most accurate result. So if you fail the one hour and need to retest or haven’t scheduled testing at all yet, I highly recommend you schedule it as early as possible!

The time of day doesn't really work for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ this is my 4th pregnancy doing the glucose test and I've always done my test first thing in the morning.

I am refusing the glucose test

Where I'm from, UK, they always give you morning appointments anyway because of having to fast. Makes more sense to do it that way as through the night, you're asleep and naturally fasting so you go hospital first thing and do the test and within a couple of hours you're good to go and can have your breakfast 😂 I've never known UK to give anyone afternoon appointments.
