Question

So I’ve just resigned from my job via email (with resignation letter attached) bc I’m not returning to work after maternity leave. I’ve got an email back saying “thanks I will get that processed for you”. My question is, what happens now? I’ve given them one months notice even tho in my contract says I need to give them 1 week. Since they did not mention anything on the email, how does it work after you’ve resigned? It’s the first time I’m doing this. I have 25 days of annual leave to get paid for but I’m not sure if it’ll be straight away or what’s the process like? Could someone please enlighten me 🙏🏻 thanks

They will look at your records now and see if you have any remaining holidays or payments etc and work it out and should let you know.

@CeeCee I do have 25 days it even says on my payslips

That might be based on you working a full year, they may need to adjust based on your leave date. Every company is different in how they work it out.

@CeeCee but will they come back to me abt it or will I have to ask them abt it ?

Its impossible to say, but in good practice yes they should send you some kind of closure email or letter with final information. If you havent heard by normal payday I would email them and ask
