I had my 40w appointment on Friday and was the exact same outcome - couldn’t even find my cervix (was fuming at myself for some reason lol) Went back today (40+3) and had a successful sweep - 1cm dilated! Had a bloody show and feeling a bit more positive. I’ve also booked in an induction for Friday, which has given me something to look forward to! Not that I want one (and may change my mind) but it’s a stepping stone. But I felt the exact same, really disheartened. After Friday I’ve sort of convinced myself out of “waiting mode” and am more in a “it’ll happen when it’ll happen” mode now, if that makes sense - trying the old reverse psychology 🤣
I'm going for my third sweep tomorrow. Going to be 40+4. The second time baby was higher up than the first. Adamant they aren't coming out. Midwife is doubtful baby or my cervix will be more favourable so have an induction booked for Thursday. Would love to give baby every chance in the world to come out naturally but I'm so done.
The way I see it, you're not early at 37 weeks anymore, so you're not late until after 42 weeks really!
Have you tried eating dates?? I swear by them, with my first I was 6cm when I got to the hospital& just had my second and I was 5cm when I got to triage x
I am the same! 40 weeks today and my cervix is completely closed, however I am booked for an induction tomorrow 🤞
I was 1 today and I couldn’t have the sweep either. I’ve been booked in for a sweep at the hospital on Saturday and hoping for an induction the following week 🤞🏽. Don’t think my baby wants to leave tbh
With my first little boy I had Covid at my due date so didn’t get to see my midwife till 41 weeks. I was also told that I was 0cm, and she couldn’t do a sweep, however just her attempting one my contractions started after 5/6 hours
