Big baby anxiety

Okay ladies how are we keeping our minds at ease after being told your baby is huge!? This is my second baby BUT my first was born 5lb12oz at 40+3 (17th percentile) This pregnancy at 37 weeks on the dot I’m measuring at 38+6 🫣 threatening to have over a 10lb baby by 40 weeks and I’m terrified to say the least.

Honestly I wouldn’t even give it much thought. The measurements can be off either way so you might not even have a big baby after all. I wouldn’t let that sway any decision making and definitely wouldn’t let it stress me out. Your body was made to do this. Women have birthed big babies for years so you’ll be okay!

I’m 34 weeks measuring at 37. They’ve been telling me he’s huge my entire pregnancy. It’s not a scale it’s an estimate so I’m just hoping they’re off and worst case I’ll get induced early.

They told me with my 2nd baby he was going to be 11lb, they induced me at 37 wks. He was all of 6lb 14oz

I’m just at a point where I’m like bring it on lmao I have had 4 babies that were 9 pounds and this little one is measuring big his head alone is in 90th percentile I have a scheduled induction which I’m not stressed about I had it before my doctor is amazing it’s funny to think my first born who was 7 pounds was my smallest baby

Just remember it’s 15% accurate! They said my first baby was average, about 7lb and ended up in an emergency c section she was almost 10lbs and stuck

@Libby oh my gosh that’s crazy!!! With my first they told me 7lb and she was 5lb12oz.

@Christina totally! I had a emergency induction with my first due to low amniotic fluid after 40 weeks and it wasn’t my favorite experience. I was really hoping to avoid pitocin but it’s sounding like my OB is leaning towards a 39 week induction if he hasn’t made his way out before then.

@Katie I'm pretty sure they just guess lol, I'm yet to meet someone that has had an accurate birth weight estimate. But there guess with my 2nd was outrageous. 1st was 6lb, 2nd was 6lb 14oz 3rd was 4lb 8oz he was the only one that I went 40 weeks with. Trying ttc again, but I think my biological clock is running out and it may not happen.

@Katie the thought of pitocin is for sure not exciting at all. I’ve been weighing out if it’s worth skipping and risking a 9lb baby and I’m not sure. I was 9lbs 8oz and my husband was early and over 8lbs so genetically my chances of a big baby are pretty high.

I’m feel you, my baby measure 2 weeks a head, my ob suggest to have him by 38 weeks so I am walking like crazy and doing exercises and eating dates and raspberry tea. I don’t wanna give up and let the induction my only option but I am also terrified from tearing☹️ Also I accept to do membrane sweep at 37 All of this wasn’t in my plan, all I wanted to have him when he is ready to come out but I have no choice And I believe he is a big baby by genetics myself and my husband was big babies I am 36 weeks tomorrow
