So anxious

I’m sure we’re all getting some pre birth jitters… but whenever I’m still for a moment I get really anxious about birth. I’ve been staying so busy because we have a lot to do these last few weeks unfortunately. So when I’m not busy it really hits me, it’s coming so fast. I just hate not REALLY knowing what to expect as this will be my first time. I’m afraid of the pain, I’m afraid that it’s going to be a long labor, I’m nervous for recovery, for breastfeeding, all of it. I’ve had a healthy pregnancy, educated myself the best I can, have support, I stretch daily, nourish myself with a variety of foods and drink lots of water. I’m drinking the fricken raspberry leaf tea and eating dates. I hope I’m just psyching myself out and it’s won’t be as bad as I expect it to be 😅

Just found out I am returning tomorrow to be induced! 12/12 was the due date.

@Caitlin congrats!! I hope everything goes smoothly ☺️

I hear you- the unexpected is so wild. I’ve found hypnobirthing techniques to be really helpful to fall back on in those moments of overwhelm, and remind myself that each contraction is meant to bring baby one step closer to being born. That gives me a bit of peace knowing that the purpose behind them is not to induce pain, rather to serve as a signal for what’s next. You’re doing an amazing job!

@Sarah I need to focus on more relaxation and meditation techniques like hypnobirthing in my downtime. I try to remind myself too that it may feel long while it’s happening, but it will be over before we know it.

I feel the same! Due December 3rd so only 2 weeks to go and I’m scared 😬 definitely work on breathing techniques! There’s some good hypnobirthing videos you can watch. I really like the ones from the positive birth company on YouTube. Also I watched a video that said basically melt into the contraction don’t try and fight it. It’ll still be painful I’m sure, but it won’t be as bad if you aren’t all tensed up. I told my husband if he notices my hands are clenched or my shoulders are tense during a contraction to remind me to relax my body/muscles and continue to breath through it. I hoping that’ll help 🤞

@Sarah I’ve told my husband that too, gently remind me to relax my hands and my jaw. I hope I can do it! If I stub my toe or something I practice breathing through the pain 😂
