High Chance Preeclampsia and baby arrival

I'm on my second pregnancy and been told I have 1:99 chance of developing preeclampsia. I never had this with my first. I'm on aspirin but wondered anyone in a similar situation when baby arrived? Everywhere I've read they come early but seems like most people hadn't been aware and been prescribed aspirin beforehand.

I had the same thing - I took aspiring from 13.5 weeks - didn’t end up getting preeclampsia. You just have to stop taking it at 35 weeks or just before. Double check with your midwife

Just get the 100gram ones and chop one in half so you have 150grams. Also you can’t keep the other half that you open. I ended up getting the over counter pharmacy brand and it was good :)

I had pre eclampsia in pregnancy 1... Which meant I had baby 3 weeks early for safety. However in pregnancy 2 i took aspirin which I didn't the first time around. I had a more than 50% chance of getting it again. But I didn't. If you do have pre eclampsia they deliver early as your placenta will be insufficient and you will start getting sick/ baby will be not getting what they need putting them at risk. Even if you do get it. They can manage it with medication until it's safe to deliver. I was managed 1st time around until 37 weeks and had a couple of friends who made it to 38+

With my oldest I was hospitalized given medication in case I was to deliver early however I did not but I had to go in to the hospital after my appts to be monitored. I did have post Eclampsia and was seen twice a week to monitor my levels until I got stable. W my second I had to do 24 hr urine test to monitor frequently however I did not have preeclampsia but had post eclampsia and was hospitalized. At the beginning of my second pregnancy I did take some medication but didn’t have to take it the entire pregnancy for preeclampsia.

I also got induced at 40 + 2 which he wasn’t ready to come at all so I ended up getting a c section.

Thank you so much! This helps so much

I had high blood pressure before even getting pregnant. I stayed on the same meds (they were pregnancy safe) and was totally fine up until I wasn't. 2 days before my 34wk appt, I started seeing spots and my BP was high. They sent me straight from my appointment to the hospital. Hospital tried to lower my BP for 5 days unsuccessfully and ended up doing a csection. My son was and still is perfectly healthy. I was able to get both steroid shots so he only needed oxygen for a few hours and never needed a feeding tube. Magically my blood pressure issues went away entirely even though it was an issue before pregnancy
