Hospitalization employee benefits

It’s open enrollment time and I just had my enrollment appointment. The lady assisting me kindly advised me to opt into my company’s optional hospitalization benefit. Apparently there is no restrictions on it, its effective January 1st, and being pregnant (planning to deliver at hospital) means it’s guaranteed free money. Anyone else experience this? The way it works from what I’m told is it’s $18 a paycheck to opt in (for me) which makes it $430 a year roughly, but being hospitalized for delivery is guaranteed $2,000 back to my pocket and every day at the hospital in labor is an extra $100, meaning if there for 3 days it’s $2,300 money back (minus the pay in of $430 of course). Anyone else doing something similar or have something similar with their employer? Was too late for me to sign up for short term disability so this was a good option.

Yes girly opt in it’s hospital indemnity insurance! Literally as simple as advising once you’ve been admitted and they will process the payment. I got 2500 💗

I work for the health insurance company lol so I am hip to it all. 😝

lol thank you!

I’m currently still on paid leave and my baby is 8 months lol feel free to inbox me and I’ll give you the cheat codeee

@Mercedes to benefit for short term disability I was told pregnancy doesn’t count if it’s pre-existing… meaning I had to have been opted in prior to getting pregnant.
