Question about contracts and mat leave

If I'm contractually obligated to work 6 months after my maternity leave- does the 6 months time frame get affected by taking holiday? Thanks!

It might depend on the exact wording of your contract, but yes. For mine, every holiday day I take a day is added onto the end of the return period.

Okay you need to actually work 6 months? Not for example, work 5 months with one months annual leave? Thank you

Yes so if you wanted to take 1 month annual leave you’d actually need to be back 7 months after your mat leave ends as the leave doesn’t count towards your 6 months. It’s only actual worked days

Thank you. Will look into the wording of mine as you say.

I think it depends on your contract because for mine you just need to be employed. So you can be off sick, on holiday or whatever and it all still counts towards the clawback period.
