Settling into nursery

How long did it take for your little ones to not cry when you drop them off at Nursery? 😭 I have to walk home trying not to cry because I feel so evil 😭

I won’t lie it took a couple months for my boy to fully settle and even now if he’s off due to sickness he might get a little upset at drop off when he goes back but generally he now smiles and reaches his arms out to his key worker. I know it’s super difficult, I would be so upset walking away from him crying then 2 minutes later I would get a video of him giggling and playing.

My little girl cried at drop off for a couple of months then was fine but this week she has been crying again. It does get easier but is really hard to start with. I used to drop her and sit in the car and cry! Then I realised she has a really good time there.

My little girl still cry’s on drop off and she’s been going since September. We also have to collect her early now as she gets upset when all the other children’s parents start picking them up before her. She’s with a childminder.

12 weeks for us. Then we had 2 weeks where he didn't cry anymore. Then we hit the 15-18m separation anxiety peak and now he's crying every time again 😭

I work in a nursery and I put her in mine and she started last month so it took her up until now to settle in don’t get me wrong she cries every time we pull up outside and I hand her over but I get glimpses of her and she’s loving life they do love to have us thinking the worst xx

Mine did for a few weeks but as soon as the door was closed and I’d gone he stopped, she’d send me pictures and he’d be happily playing. We’ve just moved him to a new nursery, cried for 2-3 sessions and happily goes in. I promise it gets easier but I’ll admit I did cry in the car at the beginning! They learn so much and have so much fun xx

Thanks everyone! He only started this week and has already had 2 sick days so I figured it would take a bit of time 😌 Glad to know it’s not just me that gets emotional about it 😭🩷

The crying lasted a couple of weeks for us, now he bangs on the door and runs in, normally only waves when he’s reminded to say bye 😂 It will get better, but it’s so sad 😢

Took about 6 weeks for him to stop crying at drop off but he still cries on pick up about 60% of the time 3 months on!

Am I the only one who’s little girl couldn’t care less when I leave and never has 😂 she loves it and is happy to go with anyone and always has been! X

About a month for us. He only goes once a week so I was worried it would take longer. He also used to burst into tears when I picked him up. We’ve just moved his nursery and he doesn’t do either any more 😮‍💨

My LG started in July and still cries when i leave her now but is settled within 10 minutes and has the best day x

I'd say about 5 weeks to not cry at drop off, she only goes 2 days a week. Now she absolutely loves it 😊
