Worst time of year for bday party

So for the 2nd bday last year we had 4 drop-outs the night before due to fever illness, which was almost half the party numbers. Now 3rd bday party is tomorrow and just had another 4 drop-out, chickenpox, fever, one in a&e with this that and the other. Anyone else had the same for your LOs bday parties? My own birthday girl was offsick from nursery on Tuesday with fever ! But now starting to think what's the point in doing a winter party when all sick all the time.

My birthday is Jan 2nd and as a kid I cried every year cos so many friends couldn't come!

I had to cancel Elaine's yesterday because she is sick herself 😫😫

@Alice oh so sorry to hear this, must have been gutting

We were half way round tesco, she'd just picked out a new outfit and birthday cake and she was sick all over the pizza aisle 😭 hopefully she will be feeling better for her actual birthday which is tomorrow 🤞

We just went to soft play with LOs 3 besties so it was nice and low-key - got little party bags and cakes but was much less stressful

@Alice poor thing. Hope she's better today 🙏

@Danielle this sounds lovely but wouldn't take away my anxiety that those 3 could still be off sick , more chance of sickness dropouts if less to start with

True but then easier to rearrange if necessary and less costly x
