Baby’s recovered now but it was really tough!! It’s horrible seeing your baby in so much pain. I just tried to nurse as much as poss (hes EBF), used humidifier w some olbas drops, Calpol plug in and as he has reflux had to make sure he was fully burped after feeds (he was projectile vomming when coughing sometimes because of the mucus build up). Also steamy bathroom sort of helped relax him. He was really poorly for 1.5 weeks and then started to recover so hang in there Ps Keep an eye on your baby’s breathing - I had to take him A&E twice because his breathing got really rapid so his oxygen was monitored so that’s the main thing xxx
My little girl has been really sick and was in critical care, the main things are feed little and often, helps with stuffy noses making it hard for them to feed and also too much food in the tummy effects breathing. Keep track on wet nappies it should be an absolute minimum of 3 per 24 hours. Keep an eye on breathing, sucking in at the neck and ribs are signs they are using muscles they shouldn't be to help them and should be checked out. Raise the head of thier bed either the frame or something under the mattress. Then the usual bits like calpol, snot suckers vapour rubs and plug in and lots and lots of cuddles. I hope your little one is okay it really is scary
How long did the fever last with your babies? 😢😢😢 Thank you for your replies xx
I hope your little one is well soon 🥹 this is one of my biggest fears at the moment
I’ve just got back from the doctor and he confirmed my LG has bronchiolitis as he could hear crackling when she breathes. He’s prescribed antibiotics just in case it gets worse so we have it ready. Other than the crackling on her chest she’s ok, she doesn’t even have a high temp, so as others have said keep an eye on your LO’s breathing. If their abdomen is being pulled under their rib cage when they’re breathing then call 111. The doctor reckons she should start to get better now after day 4. Hope your LO starts to feel better but if you’re at all worried take them to see a doctor. Our babies are under 6 months old so they won’t mind checking them over for peace of mind
My little one is just out of hospital with it and her second time in 10 weeks 😢 just make sure you are feeding little and often, try keep upright and plenty cuddles 🩷
My LG has had a really nasty chesty cough since Friday so I’m taking her to the doctors today. She’s weezing sometimes so I want her to be checked over. She’s still smiling and being vocal so that’s a good sign plus she’s feeding ok and somehow still sleeping through the night!
