Obgyn

Anyone else’s Dr not go off their period? I’m soo irritated because technically I should be further along then my ob is making me! 😢 I should be 33weeks today not 32. I found out I was pregnant VERY early on through a blood test at the Er and when I went to see my obgyn for the first time she did a sono baby was measuring at 5weeks so she used her measurements instead of my period for due date mind you I been under a 100 pounds my whole life so ALL my kids measured behind 😔 I’m just so over this pregnancy I’m in so much pain & so uncomfortable It’s hard for me to stay positive when I know this could be over sooner then she’s making it.

They usually go off 1st ultrasound. Mine was a day off of my LMP.

Baby will come when baby wants to come regardless of anyone’s dates. It’s odd to me that she’s using measurements and not your period, but again, at the end of it all baby will decide when baby wants to meet you

Mine have all been by ultrasound, not lmp. I do have irregular periods though.

Mine have always gone off of ultrasound maybe cuz my periods are super irregular

Doctors do not go off your period for due dates. Your period is used to estimate your due date in early pregnancy, before you have a scan. Once you have a scan at 12W (which is literally called a Dating Scan here in the UK lol) they give you your new updated due date based on that scan. It’s standard practice (at least it is here in the UK). Based on periods, my EDD was 5 Jan. But when we went for our dating scan it actually got changed to 2 Jan! Only like 3% of women give birth on their due date anyway so don’t stress so much. Baby will come when they come, regardless of some random date in a calendar
