@Caroline yeah that tells me how to use one but it doesn’t really tell me everything it does. Does each character just tell one story or does it do more?
It varies, when you go on the website you can view each one track listings. Some tell multiple stories. Some have a mix of story, song, game questions etc. We still read books, but after bedtime story she will select a Tonie to take in to bed and listen to as she drifts.
Each character tells multiple stories and some have songs as well. You can also get the interactive tonies which you can record your own little stories as well. Compared to what it used to be priced it’s a lot better and it makes it much easier to ask for the tonies as presents so you aren’t overwhelmed with 100s of toys. We got ours gifted and it’s been fantastic :)
I’d personally recommend the yoto player over the tonies! I have experience with both but yoto has way more features and options and can double as a sleep/wake clock.
My daughter was playing with the sample one out in Target. The Disney songs aren't even the real voices. It just seems like a radio to me except you buy the figures instead of tapes/CDs. Not planning on buying it.
I’ve heard some kids like yotos better? 🤷🏻♀️
Each figure is different, so some are stories some like the Disney ones are songs from the movie and then the story. Some last 30mins some last longer. My daughter got one last year when she was 2 and she loves it
So unnecessary in my opinion. People will literally spend money on anything these days, just because it’s trending, does not mean it’s worth the hype. Hello tonies, Stanley cups etc 😂
We are yoto users. It’s stories, songs, kids radio, kids podcasts, a nightlight, white noise machine, alarm clock, room thermometer, has daily quizzes. It’s cheaper, has more choices, more languages. My nephew has a tonie and my daughter was bored of it when she visited. Her yoto though she loves!
@Sarah can u drop a link? Also congrats! Not long now 🥰
@Hind https://uk.yotoplay.com Thank you xx
We’re Yoto users for all the reasons listed above. It’s great screen-free entertainment and nice that my daughter can listen to books when I’m doing something with the baby, she can control it herself. It grows with them, I know there’s a huge range of Yoto cards available.

We also prefer Yoto, but in most things they're super similar. They're just little machines that read stories and play music or podcasts. It encourages independent, screen free play. My son drifts off to a story most nights! That's after we've read four or five together but once I turn the light off obviously I can't read so the Yoto is great. Yes, I could do the same thing with any Bluetooth speaker from my phone, but the Yoto lets him choose.
Yoto overall is a better investment
@Jennifer that blew my mind as well like its not even the characters voice, just someone else reading it 🤯 might as well read it myself 😅
I read lots of stories to my son. I just can’t work out why I’d pay all that money to get a box to do it. And does each character just tell one story? I have so many questions! I feel like maybe my son’s missing out because everyone else seems to have them.
