I don’t think you can work from home during maternity leave as they can stop your payments x
In most cases you can't work during maternity leave (except KIT days) or your maternity payments will stop and you'll be expected back at work.
@Julia oh I didn’t know this.. no idea what I’m gonna do then as I can’t afford a nursery and I don’t have family close by to help 😰
I don’t think you’re able to work from home for an employer while claiming statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance. I believe (but I’m not 100% certain so don’t trust this) you’re able to work as self-employed while claiming SMP (not maternity allowance) though. You may also be able to earn small amounts via things like vinted or by claiming any benefits you’re entitled to
Unfortunately employed people are able to work on an self employed basis during maternity leave if receiving smp. However if getting maternity allowance (MA) you can't work, other than 10 kit days. https://workingfamilies.org.uk/articles/what-work-can-you-do-during-maternity-adoption-parental-leave/ This should explain a bit better 😊
